River Stones is an urn collection inspired by the elements of nature. Its shape is very similar to that of a river stone, thereby embodying the uniqueness and imperishability of nature.

Their soft shape, the materials used, and the high-quality craftsmanship of the urns create a pleasant and intimate feeling when held in one's hands.

River Stones urns aim to offer an alternative to traditional urns, allowing us to honor, commemorate, and bid farewell to our loved ones in a discreet and personal way.

Material: Crabwood (Carapa Guianensis from the mahogany family). Crabwood is characterized by intense reddish-brown to violet hues, often with dark, high-contrast streaks or marbled patterns. The grain is dynamic and decorative, making the wood very striking. It is known for its hardness and density, which makes it ideal for exquisite handicrafts.

The wood from which the urn is made is characterized by its warm color and fine grain, which makes each urn unique. Careful craftsmanship guarantees the highest quality and longevity. To ensure a natural product, we use a finish based on beeswax, carnauba wax, and natural oils. We do not use lacquers or resins. This is guaranteed by Tania Flores from Managua, Nicaragua, with her family business Crafted Urns, where the urn is produced.

Wood is a natural material, and the wood color and grain may differ from the product images. Each urn is unique. The photos are a reference for what the final product will look like. Over time, wood naturally darkens. For selecting the correct size, it is best to speak with your funeral director. The amount of ash remaining after cremation can vary. A guideline may be: 1 kg of body weight before cremation corresponds to approx. 0.03 - 0.04 liters of cremation ash.

Opening and closing mechanism:

At the bottom of the urn, there is a flat base with a sealable opening in the center. The size of the opening varies with the urn size. You can find the opening diameter in the product details above.

The lid of the opening is attached to the urn with a twist lock. The urn can be opened and closed again with the included wooden key.

After cremation, the ashes are placed in a so-called ash pouch at the crematorium, which is then sealed. Your funeral director will then take care of placing the ash pouch in your urn and storing it for you until the burial.

The urn is delivered in a securely packed cardboard box, which also protects it from damage. A wooden key for opening the urn and a paper funnel are also included.
