About Us

" Sometimes the world stands still, and when it starts turning again, nothing is ever the same. "

In September 2023, we found ourselves in such a situation. Our son Maximilian was born and died shortly after. This devastated us and left us to cope with grief. We had to find a way to say goodbye to our son. The search for a suitable urn took a great deal of time and ultimately led us to an urn from the River Stones collection by Crafted Urns.

Today, we want to make the already difficult journey a little simpler and more comfortable for others who share our desire for an exceptional urn. We want to bring grief and saying goodbye to our loved ones closer to the beautiful things in life. Natural beauty, in its form, shapes, and colors, can offer us comfort during this time.

In a friendly partnership with Tania Flores, the founder of Crafted Urns from Managua, Nicaragua, we offer her urns through our shop in Germany and want to gradually expand our range with other urn designers and producers.

Our mission is to be a companion to our customers on their journey. We offer exceptionally beautiful and natural urns, designed to give you the feeling of accompanying your loved one to their final resting place in a vessel that truly reflects their personality. We offer and deliver urns of exceptionally high quality. We give our best every day to ensure this.

We are Josephine and Matthias, founders of urn:en. We created this boutique online shop to make things easier for others in a similar situation. To achieve this, we collaborate with urn designers and producers to create a diverse selection of curated and unique urns. We also want to provide a platform for small and new urn labels and help them get discovered.

We consider it part of our mission to make it easier for people to find an extraordinary urn even in a difficult situation. To ensure that our selection of urns reaches people in situations where funeral directors are trusted and the first point of contact, we work with selected funeral homes in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
